Activities for the Industry

Cines del Sur has decided to complement its promotion of films from the South with more direct participation with the production and distribution sectors, establishing a gateway between the film industries of the South and those of Europe, Spain and Andalusia.

 

The 1st Annual Meeting for International Co-productions in Andalusia will take place on the 18th of June 2009. The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Andalusian Government, through its Public Company for the Management of Cultural Programmes (EPGPG), and the Trade Promotion Agency of Andalusia (Extenda).

 

Southern Film Festivals is already meeting for the third time during this year's festival. This year, the platform will be joined by other important festivals of the South, where they will work on the implementation of specific actions in accordance with a defined strategy.

      This exclusive course on fiction screenplay writing will take place on 16 and 17 June, with the collaboration of the Granada Film Festival Cines del Sur
       (http://www.cinesdelsur.com)  and the training company backed by the MEDIA programme, Sources 2. 
      We are pleased to announce that the workshop will be led by the expert from Hungary, Gaby Prekop, who is a screenplay writer, editor and international screenplay consultant. The workshop will consist of a series of 2-hour personal interviews with the writers / team of writers / directors / producers of a maximum of 6 selected projects.


      If you are interested in participating, please send us with this application form a treatment or a first draft of your screenplay before 30 April. If your fiction project is selected you will have the benefit of a one-of-a-kind, customised consulting session to help develop your screenplay for an international audience.       The cost of participating is 80 Euros per project. The language used with the expert will be English, so applicants must have a high spoken level of this language.
